>>Hay, as for that every game site, make a seach engine that looks for games made in QB... Google serches this way, or must, looking for HTML <meta> tags... just make this one look for key words reffering to QB<<
He said playable games, not the junk that you'd get using a search engine... He probablly would want the site to only feature the completed ones too

I must be missing the entire point of this posting. From a technical standpoint, I just can't see QBasic being eliminated in the next few years. I have yet to find an IBM/Microsoft compatable machine that won't run QBasic well. I've run across a few OS's that won't do as good a job..... such as XP and Linux..... but that can easily be corrected by booting the machine up from the floppy drive using virtually any DOS or WIN98 boot disk, or setting up a DOS / XP Dual boot system. ( The WIN98 boot disk is especially handy, and will run QB perfectly). As far as running compiled QB programs on XP, I've not encountered any real problems that couldn't be worked around. (but then again, I don't do graphics)
Sure, Microsoft may be trying to force their older products off of the market but until the hardware becomes unbootable with a WIN 98 boot-disk, they won't be successful.
What I DO see though, is a steady decline of people who are writing programs using QB...... and most other languages as well. QB will only stay alive as long as WE (programmers) are using it to write programs. The real threat to QB's survival is not Microsoft or the equipment makers, it's the programming community's declining interest in it.

I'm not saying this to diss QB or anything, IMO QB is a great language and tool..
But I use it because i like coding, and I like the community surrounding it...
I now use freebasic, which is even betterm and allows me to do stuff which I previously only dreamed about doing...
And seeing as the community is the same...
I hate to say it.. but QB remains on my computer solely for sentimental reasons.. I doubt I will use it to code much in the future...
There will probably be days though.. when I start it up, and look at that blue screen, and think back to when I started... ah, *wanders off down memory lane*

Always startet with /h and setted it to black background and white text for readability.
