Ok, here I go:

• What is the best and *most* inspiring QB or FB tutorial that has ever been written for QB Express 1-11?

The I.F tutorials made my nathan. Very nice and interesting reading.

• What was the BEST ground-breaking news story that has ever been introduced from within the first 11 issues?

Freebasic. comments not needed.

• Which excellent QB/FB programmer/group do you think should be nominated for the QB/FB Legends of the Year award?

v1ctor. comments not needed.

• What is the BEST game review that you have ever read in QB Express 1-11?

Scorched Planets Review by Zap. Well written and felt "honest".

• What is the WORST game review that you have ever read in QB Express 1-11?

Quest for Opa Opa, J. Burke. Felt more like personal vendetta then a fair review.

• What was your favorite upcoming game/project that has ever been featured in the “Gallery” section from the first 11 issues?

Griffon Legends, Syn9. I love rpgs and I LOVE rpgs that are similar to Zelda...and *drumroll* Griffon Legends is more or less like Zelda. Just trust me, it will be one of the best qb/fb rpgs ever.

• Which excellent QB/FB site do you think should be nominated for the QB/FB Site of the Year award?

fbtk.net. For their roguelike compo... but that's just because I'm a rl-nerd

To those who have not even voted in this yet:

ONLY THREE (3) DAYS LEFT TO VOTE!! Cool

In other words, I want to get you up to speed and let you know that here that the July 15th deadline for the 1st anniversary issue of QB Express is just a *few* short days away. So get going and let your voice shine forth into the open as to who you think will win the QB/FB Legends of the Year award, among all of the other questions that I asked you from the beginning related to this special upcoming issue indeed (see the VERY first post of Page 1 of this thread for details, please!), alright? Because, you sure do not want to miss your big chance, I am telling you right now! Big Grin=b !

See you all again, and let us make some history right here!! Wink

To all of you:

The official deadline for the 1st anniversary issue of QB Express has just passed as of 12 midnight EST. And because of this, the voting has now been ended. No further votes will even be counted at all, so in advance, my deepest thanks from the rather bottom of my heart to those of you who truly and genuinely casted your voice for your favorites in this no-doubt important thread!!! d=Big Grin=b !

Okay. As clearly promised, I will now be tabulating *all* of the votes together, and with every last single one of them, I will also be doing a VERY important write-up this weekend in such special honor of this upcoming issue of QB Express. And I will stay true to my word, too. Wink

Meanwhile though, I have recently done the initial parts of the QB/FB Legends of the Year and QB/FB Site of the Year awards, and as I tally up the votes, I will be awarding them to the winners..... with their names engraved on the plaques by yours truly!! JUST COUNT ON IT. Cool

See you all again, and my heart goes out to all those of you who have made their votes here!!! :king:=b !!

It's a shame that I didn't find this post before I read Qb express #12, but this post deserves to be responded to anyway. My review of Opa Opa has been criticised by many, mainly for being too harsh. In a previous messageboard post, I explained that the article was intended to be tongue in cheek, and not outrightly harsh. I accept that not many people found my explanation believable. It is of course the right of individuals to judge such things for themselves, and I support this even though such judgements may be ill informed.

So to clarify things, I support critisicm of my work by people who don't agree with what I say. I find criticism interesting, and on this messageboard, I often find it to be a bit of laugh. However, I have noted that some critisicm has not been directed at my writing, but rather at me personally. I find this much less interesting.

It appears to me that Adigun A. Polack's creation of for the "Worst Review" Category was a thinly disguised, and brutally succesful personal attack aimed at me. For evidence of this, I have looked at all the categories, and I have found a pattern. Examine the following categories, and you may discover this pattern too:

Quote:• What is the best and *most* inspiring QB or FB tutorial that has ever been written for QB Express 1-11?
• What was the BEST ground-breaking news story that has ever been introduced from within the first 11 issues?
• Which excellent QB/FB programmer/group do you think should be nominated for the QB/FB Legends of the Year award?
• What is the BEST game review that you have ever read in QB Express 1-11?
• What is the WORST game review that you have ever read in QB Express 1-11?
• What was your favorite upcoming game/project that has ever been featured in the “Gallery” section from the first 11 issues?
• Which excellent QB/FB site do you think should be nominated for the QB/FB Site of the Year award?

There is only one category which deals with the "worst" of anything. I find this interesting, as there was planty of scope for a "Worst" rejoinder to every "best" category. Although I hesitate to say it, I have found that on occasion, some very average tutorials have made there way into the qb express. I have also come across some very ordinary qb sites, just through google. Maybe I am the only one, but I would have been very interested to see the response to a category addressing the question of who the worst QB/FB programmer/group was in 2004-2005.

But none of these questions were asked. The only negative question was aimed at the qb express reviews, and specifically at my review of Opa Opa. I protest at this. In the future, if Adigun A. Polack intends on embarking upon a similar themed character assasination, I suggest that he makes his bias a little less obvious by including a "worst" category for every "best" category.

I am aware that it may be claimed that it wasn't a personal attack directed at me, but rather at a piece of my work. I disagree. Numerous direct personal attacks were directed at me in response to the creation of a "worst review" category.

A random one is this written by Adigun A. Polack himself...

Quote:lso, at first glance, when I first looked at Joseph’s review indeed there, I simply thought that Cha0s’ own review of that same game was a TRUE masterpiece compared to this ( ), you know what I mean? I am not bashing anybody *or* Joseph himself, but rather in a way, I honestly feel really sorry for him, man, you know? !

What he wrote doesn't really make sense, but I think he was trying to say that he didn't mean to attack me personally.

I doubt it.

I beleive the question was of Worst Review... In any which case no matter what you ment by it as (Joke, ect).. It still came off pretty lame as a review... If the question was for Worst Joke, I doubt that yours would have been brought up...

Summery: You ment you review as a joke, yet it was published as a review, and in being a joke, it wasn't a good review... Maybe a good joke, but not review...

And thus the rating stands...
