So, does this sound like a good idea...?

You're forgetting a major element: we are all human. We are not robots. Very few people do it "for the attention". Funny thing is...when someone DOES do it for the attention, those with authority tend to favor them. But that's another story altogether. Anyways, no rules have been broken, so why is this even being discussed? I think people have learned from the past to not let their emotions get the best of them and resort to insulting. The question is...have people with authority learned from the past? Big Grin

And this is where interpretation of the rules here breaks down. You can. No worries. But when someone throws in some highly-charged religious comment and it decays into a heated argument with mud being thrown and no real points being scored, that's when it gets locked down and the people involved told to go elsewhere. All rockuman points out is that in about 95% of religious threads on this forum it gets out of hand, so why bother talking about it? Besides, you'd be better arguing your religious case at a religious site...

Lately though, religious/political debates/discussions have kept their cool because no one's lost their head over their viewpoint. So in reality, about 95% of debates along these lines nowadays are perfectly fine and do not break any forum rules. I could name the prime factor in this change in forum behavior, but I will be a good boy. This time. Big Grin

I think people are taking me completely wrong. It's not the discussion about religion, or the subject at all that is getting to me... It's what people are saying that's the problem. In no way am I saying that the forum is getting outta hand either... this is one of the most mature forums I've ever been able to find on the internet, but if there's a little pet-peeve I'm having, why not say something about it?

I'm aware that this is a QB forum, but if that is all we're doomed to talk about here, then well...eww. I enjoy talking about PRINT statements and discussing futile attempts at saving memory, but if I want to start ranting about how Mrs. Balenseifer fails at life, I'm glad that this is a forum that I can do that. A QB community is what this is, not necessarily a QB forum.

Like I already said, there's nothing going on at this site that would make me want to leave. As far as I know, everyone here is mature and enjoyable to talk-... enjoyable to have around. There's been a lot of complaining lately, but who said complaining was a bad thing?

But I'm going to be smart and give up with this one. Nobody seems to know what the heck I'm talking about, and I'm the only one with the problem. Maybe I'm just reading things wrong.
