I feel I have to respond to some of the points made since my last post to clear things up - after all, Nek tells me that issues are only buried once everyone reaches an answer they're satisfied with Wink

Quote:Is it the case that oracle is being used as an attack dog because he's the newest, and at the same time, getting the blunt end of the punishment?

Not at all! Yes, I'm on more than the others. But you can't blame them for that - Dav's on holiday, Fling's got his own sites and wildcard's got a lot on. We admin don't have a "strategy" for tackling forum members, posts or complaints - we deal with each issue as it happens.

Though just a note - I made a *mistake* here, and you jumped to the hypothesis that I was an "attack dog". How did you reach this hypothesis? You said to me yourself that I'm not very experienced as an administrator and so would make mistakes...

Quote:Beleive or not their are people who can spot certain subtle things about people personality and I think oracle may well be one(I also have this ability to an extent).

I do have the ability to sum up a person from very limited evidence, yes. I don't regret my stance on the issue mentioned, and my concerns are well documented in the admin forum. And needless to say... but that's not the point of this thread.

Quote:And in my opinion Oracle deserved the jumps and flames. He did do wrong after all. Doesent matter if he's a good admin or not, he did wrong. Period.

Yes I did, but many posts here only repeated what the last person said. I was surprised at the vehement (sp?) reaction to one post...

Quote:You know what I think? Your signature is the most vile form of spam, worse than the penis enlargement emails I get on my email. I think of nothing more annoying than that kind of signature. In fact, most signatures here are classified as spam.

But spam in your signature is allowed. Do some research before you attack others. Nobody else has a problem with this...

Quote:Oh btw, the thing about the rules following the Human Declaration of Rights? Isn't free speech one of those?

And please, spare me the line by line quote thing...it takes ages to load and its just a waste of space.

Well, this only proves some people never change... it would seem that your opinion of me haven't improved in your absence. You want me to take the hard line, but don't want me to remove spam? Hmmm...

Oh, and as for the rights? Well now, I'm sure the right to free speech is a wonderful thing, but nobody here tolerates racism now, do they? I'm sure everybody here would agree should admins warn someone for posting hateful, vulgar things, but under your view that sort of stuff should be allowed because of "free speech"? It's a hard job working out where "free speech" ends and other rights begin - notably that people have the right not to be discriminated against because of their opinions etc.

Hopefully this clears up some points. If you're happy, move on to the next thread. If not, post away.

Quote:Where are the other admins?

Good question! oracle answered it pretty well....

Quote:Dav's on holiday, Fling's got his own sites and wildcard's got a lot on.

Yeah I have my own sites but I don't even attend to those lol. As well I personally don't consider having my own sites as a valid excuse to not be an active admin around here. I've begun working full time and don't really have the time or the.... "will" shall we say... to get on/use a computer (and therefore get online). What happens during the week is I come home and sit in front of the TV for a couple of hours relaxing and then go to sleep (I have to get up at 5:30 to get to work so I go to bed early.... I take my sleep very seriously I guess lol).

I've kind of been considering de-admining myself for a couple of months as I don't really do anything around here. I barely read any posts NOT in the Site Issues or General forums. And even in those forums I don't read to many posts... so as far as moderation goes, well I don't really do too much of it I guess.

Meh.

Uh?

You don't know me. I would never be that vile. I don't even know what "tight fisted" means.

First of all, I got the wrong person I wasn't quite sure hense the fact I made it clear I wasn't too sure you where definitly you, I had a look and found it was stevie, so sorry nathan. Also tight fisted means someone who's too reluctant too give things.

Yes but someone did make a comment taht you where tight with the old mod privileges and I was backing you up because this showed that you had good reason too, I feel that if someone is being unfairly put down like that you should say, admin or not.
Quote:Would you respect a teacher that was cussing or hitting a student? Would you respect a cop that was dealing with a drug addict, all because they are in a "leadership" position? If you do then there is something horribly wrong with you and you should start exercising something called reason and logic
I very careful put an unless they do something pretty serious, as in to implie that there are exceptions to rule, in this case oracle did make a mistake, but I would say he wasn't doing anything so serious as to deserve this level of disrespect.

'Tis part of the price you pay when you choose to put yourself in such a high-profile position, jatos. It comes with the territory. Everything you say, every move you make, everything...will be scrutinized by others. That's just how it is. Big Grin

This is a resolved issue, as far as I'm concerned...
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Yeah well I got my final piece, then I'm done.

Oracle:
The thing about spam in the sigs. Yeah I know it's allowed, I did read this whole post, and I do do my research. I was making a point, presenting my opinion..."You know what I think?"

And the fact that my opinion about you hasn't changed.
I seriously don't know where you pulled that from looking at the text you quoted me by, maybe you copied the wrong sentence...

But as we discussed previously and privately (or have you forgotten?) I have had nothing against you personally. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact that I didn't feel you have the administrative capabilities to handle a high-traffic forum like this. Thats it. I made that clear before, and I thought you got what I meant judging by our emails.

Anyway its over now. No grudge from my side, though it seems you are carrying one.

Fine:

I apologise for any offense you took from my posts, I did not mean to offend and humiliate you personally in public, and if I did, I regret it and hope you will manage to forgive me.

Feel privilidged, the above is rare from me.
