While it's true that you don't have to learn anything new, this isn't assurance that legacy QB code will compile under FB unmodified. You still have to cross-reference with the differences list. I think anyone with a third-grade education is able to do that.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

hmm....
I'm not too fond of XML myself either (Don't know much about it), not to mention that CVS won't acknowledge my SF.net account anyways. Not sure what the deal is. I'd prefer the documentation to remain simple HTML myself, makes it cross-platform friendly anyways. I wonder if Lynx (Linux console web browser) supports XML? Not to mention keeping a text only HTML version handy would be nice.

Nah with jofers idea of XML docs, it can be directly translated into html, txt, pdf, whatever with little effort.

Would be nice if it was possible to download and / or update what is available, even when it is not finished. That might have the side-effect that more people would like to push it a bit...
The way described for using the CVS seems a bit complicated, at least to me...

You can. Go to the project page for the documentation, and there is an anonymous web viewer there for the docs.
A CVS repository is just a big open internet folder anyone can dump files in or delete files or edit files. You just have to set it up.

Only registered members have write access to it tho.
For non-members that would be (using Jofer's guide :P):
1) Download TortoiseCVS from here:
http://www.tortoisecvs.org
2) Install it (duh)
3) Right click on the desktop and choose "CVS Checkout"
Use these settings:
CVS ROOT: :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/freebasicdoc
PROTOCOL: password server (:pserver:)
SERVER: cvs.sourceforge.net
PORT: [leave this blank]
REPOSITORY FOLDER: /cvsroot/freebasicdoc
USER NAME: anonymous
MODULE: well, there's nothing yet... (01/20/2005)

Heres the current command reference. All commands up to the third release have been documented. Now i'm adding the new commands up to v10b and will document them. I am about total of 75% complete at that.

Hmmm, so do I understand that right?
I install the software and check out NOTHING?
Really NOTHING?
So for what is this thread and the CVS good?
Nexinarus´ document I already have, that´s ok so far. (Even if I don´t understand the many "unsupporteds" when on the other hand in this forum is said f.e. "Circle is done this way..."
Sincerely confused...

Why aren't you more patient? These people are working on their spare time and for free. Instead of claiming fresh docs fast, why don't you help?
