i can't say no to so kind words like yours.
i can remember when every day i usually could find five or more questions by day in these forums.
i observed an diminution of the number of questions when FB began. but today IF i am lucky i will find one or two by day. those are my thoughts. i will never count them.

Thats a pretty weak proof, if it's even to be called proof..


FB was introduced, most people moved to it.
QBN was shutdown for a few days, most peope were annoyed and decided to leave this shitty place.
QBN got back up, with new owner, some people returned.


Also, if people leave because they are told there's a better product that can do everything they ever dreamed about doing in QB but couldnt because QB is old and prett much suck by todays standards of multimedia etc.. then they shouldnt be asking questions in the first place, if they're so afraid of the answer..

Also, this is a forum, like all forums it has it's ups and downs in amount of posts.. School has started again, people are moving to universities, etc..

1. xiberlord was choosen because it was masculine. if I remember she didn't want to be known as a female programmer. right z!re?

2. Yes yes that is a list of newbies that haven't come back. maybe they had a question which was answered and then they didn't have any more so they didn't see the purpose in staying. mm? that's what it is most of the time. and occasionally a newbie comes and thinks he's better then all the veterens combined and then he get's mad when he find out he isn't or he gets banned.

Most cases it's the first one. They come, get their questions answered, and leave.

3. Z!re's right. you have no proof. you may be able to say what you are if you joined 2 years ago. but you didn't. You didn't even join before FB.
were you here for the revealing of z!re being female? (didn't know how to word that..)
were you here for the "i am god" thing?
were you here for the forum shutting down and comming back up?
were you here when that happened the time before that? (yes it happened twice while I was here)
were you here when the "hackers" or whoever that ruined the site? (If i remember i was a member when it happened but not actually an active member. could someone tell the story maybe?)
I'm sure there's others. but i'm not in the proper state of mind to think of them.

4. Macric. Who left the forums because of FB? With proof. Maybe a link to a post that says "You know what. I can't handle all the FBness. I'm going to some other place" plus a lot of the people in that list were probably not even worthy to be called QB programmers (or something). They came here with a problem and we helped. A lot of it is for school. A lot of the time it's not. You really think that everyone that tries QB is meant to program QB? Not everyone can be a programmer. Many can try. Many will probably get the basics of the language (then maybe take the test to pass the class and then forget everything.)

5. Macric. The people you are arguing against have >1000 posts in this forum. They are veterens by the way =P.

6. I use FB because I am mostly on linux. Even my use of FB is dmimishing. ALthough this is because oif school. I am having lots of work (which I always procrastinate) and they are teaching me java. Also I join the robotics team which uses C so I've been playing with that too. Notice all 3 of the languages mentioned work on linux. QB, i'm afraid, does not.

7. uhhh... penguins. Bah can't think of anything else.

I get the feeling its just a old school battle, Retro promoters, ect.... Which sucks, FB can do all that, and better since your not limited to speed... You can make Retro 3D stuff with OpenGL + FB with the res set to 320x200.... Yes, other than the RGB, the gfx are blocky and retro looking,... But, its way faster than QB making it easier to do.... ^_^
